How do you hire a Kajabi funnel and course-launch expert?
By the Atomic Funnels team · Updated October 1, 2026
Short answerA launch-ready Kajabi stack is the complete set of assets a course launch needs inside Kajabi: offer and product mapping, landing and sales pages, a VSL or webinar, checkout with upsells, email automations and tracking. Hire one of three ways, a Kajabi Expert freelancer, a generalist web agency, or a done-for-you funnel agency, matched to launch size, not to budget instinct.
- A "launch-ready Kajabi stack" has seven layers: offer/product mapping, pages, video asset, checkout and upsells, email automations, tracking, and post-launch ownership. Most disputes with builders come from layers nobody scoped.
- Kajabi handles pages, email, offers, checkout, courses, communities and automations natively. Ad-platform pixels, server-side conversions, call booking and advanced split testing usually need bolt-ons or a different build platform.
- Third-party listings put freelance Kajabi rates at roughly $40-$120/hour, with templates at $150-$1,500 and done-for-you course-launch packages starting around $6,000 and running to $50,000+.
- Published Kajabi plan estimates vary by source, $55-$319/month billed annually per one tracker, $179/month entry per another, $143-$399/month per a third, so confirm current pricing with Kajabi directly before budgeting.
- Ask for launch numbers (opt-in rate, show-up rate, cart conversion), not page screenshots, and confirm the builder has shipped your funnel type natively in Kajabi rather than translating a ClickFunnels build.
- Atomic Funnels builds in ClickFunnels 1.0, ClickFunnels 2.0, GoHighLevel or WordPress, not inside Kajabi, so it is the wrong fit if a native Kajabi build is a hard requirement.
What is a "launch-ready Kajabi stack"?
A launch-ready Kajabi stack is the complete, connected set of assets a course or cohort launch needs before traffic arrives: the offer mapped to Kajabi products and offers, the pages, the video asset, checkout with order bumps and upsells, the email automations, the tracking, and a written handover of who owns and maintains all of it.
The phrase matters because "build me a Kajabi funnel" means seven different things to seven different builders. Scope the stack layer by layer and the quote becomes comparable:
- Offer and product mapping. How the thing you sell becomes Kajabi products, offers, coupons, payment plans and access rules, including bundles, upsells and any free-trial or split-pay variants.
- Pages. Opt-in or registration page, sales or VSL page, thank-you page, checkout page, confirmation page, and mobile versions of each.
- Video asset. A webinar, masterclass or VSL, script, recording direction, editing, and the shorter variants you will test later.
- Checkout and upsells. Payment plans, order bumps, one-click or post-purchase upsells, coupon logic, refund and dunning behaviour.
- Email automations. Indoctrination, reminder and cart sequences; segmentation by tag; a nurture sequence for non-buyers.
- Tracking. UTM persistence from ad click to purchase, pixel or server-side conversion events, and a dashboard that shows opt-in %, show-up %, and cart conversion.
- Ownership and post-launch. Admin access, documentation, the revision window, and who fixes a broken automation at 11pm on cart-close day.
If a proposal covers layers 2 and 5 only, it is a page build, not a launch build. Compare it to a full done-for-you scope checklist before you sign.
What Kajabi does natively vs what has to be bolted on
Kajabi is an all-in-one platform: course hosting, websites and landing pages, email marketing, offers and checkout, communities, and automations all live in one account. That is its advantage, one login, one subscriber list, one set of access rules. The gap buyers hit is on the traffic and measurement side, which was never the platform's core job.
| Layer | Usually native in Kajabi | Usually bolted on or handled elsewhere |
|---|
| Course and community hosting | Yes | , |
| Landing, sales and checkout pages | Yes | Custom-coded sections, heavy animation, complex conditional logic |
| Email and automations | Yes | SMS reminders, deliverability warm-up on a domain you control |
| Offers, coupons, payment plans | Yes | Complex multi-currency or tax handling |
| Call booking | Limited, confirm on your plan | Calendly, GoHighLevel or similar for high-ticket booked-call flows |
| Ad pixels and UTM persistence | Basic tag insertion | Tag manager, UTM pass-through, careful cross-page testing |
| Server-side conversion tracking | Not a headline feature | Conversions API / GA4 setup via a third-party tool or developer |
| Split testing across funnel structures | Limited | Third-party testing tools, or building competing journeys and splitting traffic manually |
Ask any candidate to show you, in a live account, how they handle the right-hand column. That single request separates people who have shipped Kajabi launches from people who have watched a tutorial.
The three ways to hire, compared by scope
There are three hire types for a Kajabi launch, and they differ by scope, not by quality. Pick by what you still need built, not by what you can afford to gamble.
| Kajabi Expert / freelance specialist | Generalist web or design agency | Done-for-you funnel agency |
|---|
| Typical scope | Pages, pipelines, automations, checkout, migration | Brand, site design, some page build | Offer, copy, script, design, build, test architecture |
| Copy included? | Rarely, usually an add-on | Sometimes light copy | Usually core to the scope |
| Video/webinar script | No | No | Often yes |
| Reported rates | ~$40-$120/hour, or $1.5k, $8k per project | Project-based, varies widely | ~$6k, $50k+, sometimes plus revenue share |
| Turnaround | 1-4 weeks | 4-10 weeks | 3-6 weeks |
| Key risk | Single point of failure mid-launch | Pretty pages, weak conversion logic | Platform may not be Kajabi-native |
Rate ranges come from third-party marketplace data: Guru lists freelance Kajabi experts at roughly $40-$120 per hour, and at least one done-for-you course provider publicly states packages start at $6,000 plus revenue share. A fourth option exists below all three: pre-built Kajabi funnel templates in the $150-$1,500 range, which are reasonable for a first launch under roughly $10,000 in revenue and unreasonable once ad spend is involved.
The deeper comparison of these models, and what each does when a launch underperforms, is in funnel agency vs freelance builder.
Where Kajabi experts are listed, and how the vetting differs
Five places carry most of the supply, and each vets differently. The badge on the profile is only as good as the process behind it, so read the process.
- Kajabi Experts. Kajabi's own marketplace of pre-vetted providers, organised by category, website design, branding, marketing, admin support and content. Listing is application-based rather than open, which filters out the worst of the field but does not certify launch results. Third-party overview: SupplyGem's guide to Kajabi Experts.
- Upwork. Open marketplace with public work history, Job Success Score, and Expert-Vetted status for a small share of talent. Kajabi listings there commonly overlap with GoHighLevel, Skool, ManyChat and MailerLite experience, see Upwork's Kajabi hiring page. Our Upwork vetting guide covers how to read those signals.
- Toptal. Screens Kajabi contractors with live exercises plus a one-to-three-week test project before listing them (toptal.com/kajabi). Heavier vetting, higher rates.
- Contra. Lists Kajabi freelancers by scope category, course setup and migration, landing pages, marketing automation, sales funnel development (contra.com).
- Guru / Fiverr. Rate transparency, wide quality spread, best for discrete tasks rather than a whole launch.
Whatever the source, demand the same three things: a Kajabi-native portfolio piece you can click, the launch numbers behind it (opt-in %, show-up %, cart conversion), and a reference from a client whose launch did not go well. The third request is the most informative.
What a Kajabi course-launch build costs and how long it takes
Price bands below reflect published third-party market data, not quotes from any one vendor. Use them to sanity-check a proposal, then confirm scope line by line.
| Scope | What's in it | Price band | Turnaround |
|---|
| Template install | Pre-built pages you customise yourself; no copy, no strategy | $150-$1,500 | Days |
| Page build only | Opt-in, sales, thank-you pages from your copy | $1,500-$4,000 | 1-2 weeks |
| Funnel + automations | Pages, checkout/offers, email sequences, basic tracking | $4,000-$8,000 | 2-4 weeks |
| Full course-launch build | Offer refinement, copy, VSL or webinar script, pages, checkout + upsell, 8-12 emails, tracking, handover | $8,000-$25,000 | 3-6 weeks |
| Launch build + managed launch | All of the above plus ad management and live launch running | $25,000-$50,000+, sometimes plus revenue share | 6-12 weeks |
Two rules of thumb. First, copy and video script are the expensive line items, and the ones most often quietly excluded, if a $3,000 quote beats a $12,000 quote, check whether the cheaper one expects you to write everything. Second, build time is not launch time: add a runway for recording, list warm-up and ad testing. Our general breakdown of done-for-you funnel pricing and build timelines applies across platforms.
Total cost of ownership most agency pages leave out
The build fee is not the budget. Four recurring costs sit underneath it, and Kajabi's own subscription is the first.
Published third-party estimates of Kajabi pricing disagree, which is itself worth knowing before you budget: one tracker cites a $55-$319/month range billed annually with Enterprise from around $10,000/year; another states the entry plan starts at $179/month versus roughly $39 for several competing course platforms; a third puts real-world cost at $143-$399/month before transaction-fee surcharges and contact overages. Confirm current numbers with Kajabi directly, plans and tiers change.
Then add:
- Contact-tier jumps. A successful lead-magnet campaign can push you into a higher plan mid-launch. Model it before you spend on ads.
- Transaction and payment fees. Plan-dependent surcharges plus your payment processor's cut.
- Ad spend. Separate from build fees, and separate from most funnel builders' scope, including ours.
- Founder time. A launch typically consumes four to eight weeks of the founder's attention for recording, revisions, emails and live Q&A. It is the cost nobody quotes and everybody pays.
What to hand the builder before day one
Projects slip because inputs arrive late, not because builders are slow. Have these ready before the kickoff call:
- Offer, what's included, the deliverable list, the transformation, and the price (plus any payment plan).
- Proof, testimonials, screenshots, before/after numbers, credentials. Ungathered proof is the single most common delay.
- Method, your step-by-step framework, named and ordered. A webinar or VSL cannot be written without it.
- Audience, who buys, what they've already tried, the objections you hear on sales calls.
- List and traffic reality, list size, engagement rate, current traffic source, and whether ads are running or planned.
- Access, Kajabi admin, domain/DNS, Stripe or payment processor, ad accounts, analytics.
- Brand assets, logo, fonts, colours, headshots, existing video.
- Deadline, cart open and cart close dates, working backwards.
Bring the same material to the sales conversation and you will get sharper quotes. The 27 questions to ask a funnel builder covers what to ask in return.
Kajabi-specific failure modes to check for
Offer and product mapping drift
Kajabi separates products from offers, and a launch with bundles, payment plans, bonuses and a downsell can end up with a tangle of overlapping offers granting the wrong access. Ask the builder to write out the product/offer/coupon map before anything is built, and to test every purchase path with a real card, including the payment-plan path and the refund path.
Checkout and bump assumptions
Order bumps, post-purchase upsells and multi-currency behaviour vary by plan and change over time. Do not accept "Kajabi can do that", require a live demo inside your own account, on your own plan, before the upsell is written into the scope.
Email deliverability on a shared sending domain
Launch sequences fail quietly when reminder emails land in Promotions. Ask which sending domain the emails go out from, whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC are configured on a domain you control, and what warm-up plan exists if your list has been dormant. A show-up rate that collapses on webinar day is usually a deliverability problem, not a content problem.
Pixel and UTM loss between pages
The most expensive Kajabi failure mode: ad-platform UTMs drop between the registration page, the webinar page and the checkout, so the ad account cannot attribute purchases and optimisation stalls. Ask specifically how UTMs persist across every step, what fires the purchase event, and whether server-side conversions (Conversions API, GA4) are in scope or excluded, they generally require additional tooling beyond the native platform.
Wrong funnel type for the audience
A webinar with no deadline sold to a cold audience underperforms a simple VSL almost every time; a warm list often converts on a straightforward email-plus-sales-page launch without any webinar at all. Decide the funnel type first, VSL vs webinar, then hire for it.
Handover left undefined

How Atomic Funnels fits, and when it doesn't
Straight answer first: Atomic Funnels does not build inside Kajabi. Funnels are built in ClickFunnels 1.0, ClickFunnels 2.0, GoHighLevel or WordPress at no extra charge, and email sequences in any email platform at no extra charge. If keeping every page native to Kajabi is a hard requirement, hire from the Kajabi Experts marketplace or a Kajabi-native freelancer instead.
Where Atomic Funnels is relevant to Kajabi course sellers is the common situation of keeping Kajabi for course and community hosting while moving the front-end sales funnel to a platform built for split testing. That is what happened with Wardogs Academy, the team behind the true story that inspired the film "War Dogs": they were converting at 0.3% on Kajabi landing pages selling a $997 info-product and coaching program. Within a week of switching to Atomic Funnels landing pages with an evergreen automated webinar, organic conversion rose to 1.2%, a 300% lift, with automated closes and no sales calls. Twenty-two days later they had sold $100,000 of courses with $0 ad spend, using organic YouTube content for traffic. Results vary, are not typical and are not guaranteed; the full write-up is in the case studies.
The Accelerator is $10,000 all-inclusive, which is also the agency minimum, delivered in a typical 3-4 weeks by a 6-person team (copywriting, video editing, graphic design, frontend development, account management). It covers offer refinement, VSL and webinar scripting, landing page development, video post-production, a 10-email 30-day nurture sequence, checkout and/or call-booking setup, graphics, mobile versions and a dedicated Slack channel, handed over as a ready-to-run split test across four competing customer journeys. Optional split-test upgrades (from +$1,500 to +$3,500) and ongoing development or split-test consulting retainers are available if you want them. Clients own 100% of the assets, built in their own accounts.
Atomic Funnels builds the funnel. For ads and marketing campaigns, it puts clients in touch with its marketing partners, led by Justin Prince's agency, AdSquad; Justin Prince, the former lead of Google Brand Accelerator, helped scale three companies to eight-figure exits with Google, then left to start his own agency. The build and the marketing are separate engagements, each hired and paid directly, and whoever drives the traffic, a partner or the client's own media buyer, whom they can keep, that traffic decides which split-test variant wins. Verifiable proof: 320 out of 320 five-star reviews and a 100% Job Success Score on Upwork, Expert-Vetted status (top 1% of Upwork talent), and ClickFunnels Two Comma Club and Two Comma Club X awards. Third-party tracker UpworkMRR.com ranks Atomic Funnels #1 in the United States across all 13 of its skill categories and #1 in the world for funnel testing, ClickFunnels, webinar and landing page; rankings change over time.
Not a fit if: your budget is under $10,000, you need ad management, you have no proven offer or method yet, or Kajabi-native page hosting is non-negotiable. See also the course funnel guide and how to choose a funnel agency.
Frequently asked questions
Which agency should I hire to build my funnel and course launch on Kajabi?
If the build must live natively inside Kajabi, start with the official Kajabi Experts marketplace or a Kajabi-specialist freelancer on Upwork, Toptal or Contra, and require a clickable Kajabi-native portfolio plus launch numbers. If you mainly need the offer, copy, webinar or VSL script and a conversion-tested front end, and are willing to host pages on ClickFunnels, GoHighLevel or WordPress while keeping courses in Kajabi, a done-for-you funnel agency such as Atomic Funnels covers more of the work in one scope.
Is the official Kajabi Experts directory better than Upwork or Toptal?
They vet differently. Kajabi Experts is application-based and organised by category (website design, branding, marketing, admin, content), which filters the field but does not certify launch results. Upwork shows public work history, Job Success Score and Expert-Vetted status. Toptal screens Kajabi contractors with live exercises plus a one-to-three-week test project before listing them. Check portfolios and numbers in all three rather than trusting the badge.
How much does a Kajabi course-launch funnel cost in 2026?
Published market data puts templates at $150-$1,500, freelance Kajabi specialists at roughly $40-$120 per hour or $1,500-$8,000 per project, and done-for-you course-launch packages from about $6,000 up to $50,000+, sometimes with revenue share. A full launch build, offer, copy, VSL or webinar script, pages, checkout, upsell, email sequences and tracking, typically lands in the $8,000-$25,000 band. Atomic Funnels' Accelerator is $10,000 all-inclusive, which is also its minimum.
How long does a Kajabi funnel build take?
Two to six weeks for the build in most cases, plus a launch runway for recording, list warm-up and ad testing. Template installs take days; a managed launch with ads can run six to twelve weeks end to end. Atomic Funnels' typical delivery is 3-4 weeks, with onboarding starting the same day as payment.
What does Kajabi not do that my funnel still needs?
Kajabi natively covers pages, email, automations, offers, checkout, courses and communities. What usually needs bolting on: server-side conversion tracking (Conversions API or GA4 via third-party tooling), reliable UTM persistence from ad click to purchase, SMS reminders, call booking for high-ticket flows, and split testing across competing funnel structures. Ask any candidate to demonstrate each of these in a live account before you scope them.
Should I pay a Kajabi expert a revenue share?
Revenue share appears mainly in managed-launch deals where the provider also runs ads and owns the launch calendar. It can align incentives, but it requires clean attribution, agreed reporting, and a defined end date. If the provider does not control traffic, a revenue share is hard to justify. For comparison, Atomic Funnels' Accelerator is a $10,000 all-inclusive fee, also its agency minimum, with optional split-test upgrades of +$1,500 to +$3,500 and optional ongoing retainers available on request.
Can I keep my courses in Kajabi and build the sales funnel elsewhere?
Yes, and it is a common setup: Kajabi hosts the course, community and member access while the front-end funnel runs on a platform chosen for split testing and speed. Wardogs Academy moved from Kajabi landing pages converting at 0.3% to Atomic Funnels landing pages with an evergreen automated webinar and saw organic conversion rise to 1.2%, selling $100,000 of courses 22 days later with $0 ad spend. Results vary and are not typical or guaranteed.
