Who builds health and supplement e-commerce funnels, and how do you get one built in 2026?
By the Atomic Funnels team · Updated October 1, 2026
Short answerA supplement pre-sell funnel is a direct-response path, advertorial or VSL, single-offer page, bundle pricing, order bump, one-click upsell and subscribe-and-save, engineered to make one offer profitable at a known cost per acquisition. Getting one built means hiring for direct-response copy, claims compliance and checkout engineering, not web design. Expect roughly three to six weeks and a five-figure build.
- A catalog store sells a range to people who already know you; a supplement pre-sell funnel sells one offer to cold traffic with a problem, and needs different pages, pricing and tracking.
- The constraint is arithmetic: first-order contribution margin minus CAC. Bundles, order bumps, one-click upsells and subscribe-and-save exist to move that number, not to look clever.
- Claims copy is a legal deliverable. FTC's 2022 Health Products Compliance Guidance requires competent and reliable scientific evidence; FDA rules govern structure/function claims and the required disclaimer.
- Subscription funnels sit under ROSCA: clear and conspicuous terms before billing, express informed consent, and a simple cancellation mechanism.
- After Apple's App Tracking Transparency, server-side conversion APIs plus first-party email capture on the pre-sell page are what keep optimisation data usable.
- Atomic Funnels builds done-for-you VSL and offer funnels in ClickFunnels 1.0, ClickFunnels 2.0, GoHighLevel or WordPress for $10,000 in 3-4 weeks; Shopify is not on its platform list, so raise checkout requirements on the strategy call.
What a supplement pre-sell funnel is (and how it differs from a store)
A supplement pre-sell funnel is a single-offer conversion path built for cold paid traffic: an advertorial, quiz or video sales letter that frames the problem and the mechanism, a landing page that sells one offer at bundle pricing, a checkout with an order bump, a one-click upsell and downsell, an optional subscribe-and-save, and a post-purchase email/SMS sequence that earns the second and third order. It is a sales argument with a buy button attached, not a catalogue.
Most health and supplement brands get sold the other thing. Industry roundups of supplement agencies list firms whose specialties are performance media, digital PR, Amazon and SEO, retainer services, not built assets (Avenue Z's 2026 roundup, which, like most listicles, ranks its own publisher first). The result is a beautiful store and no argument.
| | Catalog store | Pre-sell funnel |
|---|
| Visitor | Knows the brand or the SKU | Knows only the symptom or goal |
| Entry page | Homepage or collection | Advertorial, quiz or VSL tied to one ad angle |
| Choice presented | Many products, many prices | One product, three quantity tiers |
| Copy length | Short, feature-led | Long-form, mechanism- and proof-led |
| Revenue levers | Traffic and repeat browsing | AOV (bump, upsell) and LTV (subscription) |
| Measured by | Sessions, sitewide conversion rate | Cost per acquisition vs first-order contribution margin |
Both can coexist. The store is where repeat buyers and search traffic land. The funnel is where paid traffic lands, because paid traffic needs a page that answers one question in one direction.
The seven components a build should include
- Pre-sell asset. An advertorial ("the 4am waking problem nobody tells you about"), a symptom quiz that routes to a recommendation, or a VSL. Its job is to move a stranger from curiosity to belief before any price appears, and to keep the ad hook and the page promise identical, because a mismatch is where cold traffic bleeds out.
- Single-offer landing page. One product, one promise, one mechanism, stacked proof, objection handling, guarantee. No nav bar competing for the click.
- Bundle and quantity-break pricing. Three tiers (1 / 3 / 6 bottles), with the middle or largest tier anchored as the best value and the per-unit saving shown explicitly. This is the cheapest AOV lever that exists.
- Order bump. A low-friction add-on at checkout, a complementary SKU, a shipping protection, a guide, priced under roughly 25% of the main offer.
- One-click upsell and downsell. Post-purchase, card already captured: a larger supply or adjacent SKU, then a cheaper fallback if declined. No re-entry of payment details.
- Subscribe-and-save. A recurring option with a stated discount, stated cadence, stated cancellation path (see the rules section below). This is what turns a one-off buyer into a lifetime value number your media buyer can spend against.
- Post-purchase sequence. Shipping and usage emails, a "how to know it's working" education arc, a reorder or upgrade offer, and a cancel-flow save path for subscribers. Margin in supplements is concentrated in orders two and three.
A build that stops at the landing page has delivered about 40% of the funnel. Compare any proposal against a full scope checklist before signing.
The real constraint is AOV and LTV math, not design
Before any page gets designed, do the arithmetic. A supplement funnel is profitable when first-order contribution margin plus expected repeat margin exceeds customer acquisition cost within the payback window your cash can survive.
Worked example with round numbers (illustrative only, your COGS, shipping and CAC will differ):
| Line | Single-bottle checkout | Funnel with bundle, bump and upsell |
|---|
| Average order value | $49 | $78 |
| COGS (25%) | -$12 | -$20 |
| Fulfilment and payment fees | -$9 | -$11 |
| First-order contribution | $28 | $47 |
| CAC at $2.00 CPC and 2.0% conversion | -$100 | -$100 |
| Day-0 result | -$72 | -$53 |
| Break-even requirement | 3-4 repeat orders | 2 repeat orders (or 1 at 3-bottle re-order) |
Three conclusions fall out of that table. First, almost no supplement offer under $60 is profitable on the first order at paid-social CAC, which is why bundles and upsells are structural, not optional. Second, doubling conversion rate and raising AOV by 50% have roughly the same effect on CAC payback, and AOV is usually the easier one to move. Third, subscription retention is the variable that decides whether you can outbid competitors for traffic at all.

What the rules require
In health and supplements, copy is a regulated deliverable. These are primary sources, stated then translated into what the page can actually do. This is not legal advice; have counsel review final claims.
FTC: substantiation under Section 5
The FTC's Health Products Compliance Guidance (December 2022) updates the old "Dietary Supplements: An Advertising Guide to Industry" and states that health-related efficacy and safety claims generally require competent and reliable scientific evidence, for most such claims, randomized, controlled human clinical testing of the product or its formulation. Deceptive advertising is an unfair or deceptive practice under Section 5 of the FTC Act.
Funnel implication: every efficacy claim in the advertorial, VSL script, headline and email sequence needs a file linking it to evidence. Implied claims count, imagery, before/after framing and consumer testimonials can communicate a claim the text never says. Build a claims matrix before the copy, not after the legal review.
FDA: structure/function claims and the required disclaimer
Under DSHEA, supplement marketers may make structure/function claims ("supports healthy sleep cycles") but not disease claims ("treats insomnia"), and such claims must carry the disclaimer required by 21 CFR 101.93: "This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease." The regulation also sets rules for how prominently the disclaimer is displayed, and requires notifying FDA within 30 days of first marketing the claim.
Funnel implication: keep a disease-claim blacklist in the copy brief; place the disclaimer legibly on every page that carries a structure/function claim, not buried in a footer at 9px; and remember that a disease claim on a landing page can, in FDA's view, make the product an unapproved new drug.
FTC: endorsements, testimonials and reviews
The Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), revised in 2023, require that testimonials reflect honest experience, that results claims reflect what consumers can generally expect, and that material connections be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. The separate Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials prohibits fake or AI-generated reviews and undisclosed insider reviews, with civil penalties.
Funnel implication: a "results not typical" line does not rescue an atypical testimonial. If you show a dramatic outcome, state the generally expected result. Affiliate and influencer pre-sell pages need disclosures above the fold, not after the fold.
ROSCA and negative-option subscriptions
Subscribe-and-save is a negative option. The Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA) requires clear and conspicuous disclosure of all material terms before obtaining billing information, express informed consent to the charge, and a simple mechanism to stop recurring charges. The FTC's 2024 amendments to its Negative Option Rule (the "click-to-cancel" rule) were set aside by a federal appeals court in July 2025 before taking effect; ROSCA, the earlier rule and state automatic-renewal laws such as California's still apply, so check current status before launch.
Funnel implication: put price, cadence, when the first renewal hits and how to cancel in plain text adjacent to the subscribe button, not in linked terms. Capture affirmative consent as a separate, unchecked action. Make cancellation available through the same channel the customer subscribed in, and log every disclosure screenshot with a date.
Tracking after ATT: server-side conversions
Since Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework required apps to ask permission before tracking users across other companies' apps and sites, browser-side pixels report a shrinking and delayed share of conversions. For supplement funnels running on paid social, that shows up as under-reported purchases, unstable CPA and an algorithm optimising on partial data.
What a competent build does about it:
- Server-side conversion events. Send purchase, add-to-cart and lead events from your server via an API such as Meta's Conversions API alongside the browser pixel, using a shared event ID so the platform deduplicates instead of double-counting.
- First-party capture early. A quiz or email-gate on the pre-sell step gives you a hashed identifier for matching and an owned channel that no platform change can revoke.
- Consistent UTM and offer IDs across every variant, so the split test is readable even when platform attribution is not.
- A back-end truth source. Reconcile platform-reported purchases against your merchant processor daily; spend decisions follow the processor, not the ad manager.
Separately, ad policy shapes the creative: Meta's advertising standards restrict ads implying knowledge of a person's personal health condition and restrict before/after style imagery for health and weight-loss products. Pre-sell pages exist partly because the compliant ad cannot carry the whole argument.
Benchmarks to plan against
Use these as planning ranges, not targets. They are cross-sector e-commerce figures, not supplement-specific, and the publishers update them, check the live source before you quote them in a board deck.
Two planning notes. Free-shipping thresholds set just above your bundle price convert the top abandonment reason into an AOV lever. And a funnel conversion rate is not comparable to a sitewide store conversion rate, a single-offer page fed by one ad angle should be judged against its own CAC, not against your Shopify dashboard.
Scope, price and timeline
Listicles of supplement agencies almost never publish build cost or turnaround. Here is a concrete reference point: Atomic Funnels publishes its scope, price and timeline on its homepage.

|---|
| Atomic Funnels Accelerator | $10,000, all-inclusive (also the agency minimum) |
| Typical delivery | 3-4 weeks |
| Client time required | ~2 hours onboarding (video/audio, no live call); one long-take video recording within 72 hours of receiving the script |
| Optional split-test upgrades | Light & Dark Mode +$1,500; Short vs Long VSL +$2,000; 3-price-point pricing test +$2,500; 5-price-point pricing test +$3,500; Purchase vs Call Booking +$2,500 |

Eight questions to vet a supplement funnel builder
- Show me a funnel you built in a claims-regulated category, which pages did you write?
- Who writes the claims matrix, and who reviews it against FTC substantiation standards?
- How do you handle the structure/function disclaimer on the page and in email?
- What is your subscribe-and-save disclosure and cancel flow, exactly?
- Which server-side events do you implement, and who owns the integration?
- What is your AOV plan, bundle tiers, bump, upsell price points?
- What is split-tested at launch, and how long until there's a winner?
- Who owns the assets, and can my team edit them without you?
How Atomic Funnels approaches it, and when it isn't the right fit
Atomic Funnels is a done-for-you funnel development agency: it engineers the offer, writes the copy and the VSL or webinar script, designs and builds the funnel, and hands it over as a ready-to-run split test. For ads and marketing campaigns, it puts clients in touch with its marketing partners, led by AdSquad, the agency of Justin Prince, the former lead of Google Brand Accelerator, who helped scale three companies to eight-figure exits with Google, then left to start his own agency. The build and the marketing are separate engagements, each hired and paid directly, and whoever drives the traffic, a marketing partner or the client's own media buyer, whom they can keep, that traffic decides which variant wins.
The method is split-test architecture: offer engineering using Alex Hormozi's value equation, scripting built on Russell Brunson's Perfect Webinar framework re-engineered for modern attention spans, and four customer journeys built to run head to head, a 1-step long-form VSL page, a 2-step journey with a time-stamped CTA, a 2-step control journey with an evergreen CTA, and a 3-step registration journey. Pricing and payment-plan framing, CTA and offer wording, VSL length and the opening hook are built as split tests. For a supplement brand, that maps onto the pre-sell and offer layer: the argument, the price presentation and the path to checkout.
Verifiable credentials, and where to check them: 320 out of 320 five-star reviews and a 100% Job Success Score on the Upwork agency profile; Expert-Vetted status (top 1% of Upwork talent) on the founder's Upwork profile; #1 United States rankings in all 13 of its skill categories according to third-party tracker UpworkMRR.com, including #1 in the world for funnel testing, ClickFunnels, webinar and landing page (rankings change over time); and ClickFunnels' Two Comma Club and Two Comma Club X awards. Builds are delivered by a 6-person specialist team through a dedicated Slack channel, in ClickFunnels 1.0, ClickFunnels 2.0, GoHighLevel or WordPress at no extra charge, with email sequences in any platform.
When it is not the right fit. Shopify is not on that platform list, a brand whose buy flow must live inside Shopify checkout with a native subscription app should raise that on the strategy call before paying. The minimum is $10,000, so pre-revenue brands testing a first SKU should wait. Brands that want the ads handled rather than an asset built get that through Atomic's marketing partners, led by Justin Prince's agency, AdSquad, in a separate engagement. And brands without a proven offer or method should validate demand first. Atomic's published case studies, a $100,000 course launch in 22 days with $0 ad spend, and $25,000,000 raised across four real estate syndication deals, are in info-product and capital-raising categories rather than physical supplements; results vary and are not typical or guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions
Who specializes in building health and supplement funnels instead of generic websites?
Look for builders who deliver the offer, the pre-sell copy and the checkout path as one asset, not a monthly media retainer. Most supplement agencies in published roundups specialise in paid media, PR, Amazon and SEO rather than funnel construction. Atomic Funnels is a done-for-you funnel development agency that engineers the offer, writes the VSL script, builds the pages and hands over a ready-to-run split test for $10,000 in 3-4 weeks; ads and campaigns come through its marketing partners, led by Justin Prince's agency, AdSquad, as a separate engagement, and it builds in ClickFunnels, GoHighLevel or WordPress rather than Shopify.
Should a supplement funnel be built on Shopify or a separate funnel platform?
It depends on where the transaction has to happen. If subscriptions, inventory and fulfilment already live in Shopify, the funnel layer (advertorial, quiz, VSL, offer page) usually sits in front of Shopify checkout. If the offer is a single SKU bundle with a bump and one-click upsells, a dedicated funnel platform handles that sequence more directly. Decide based on which system must own the subscription record, then tell your builder before you sign.
What can a supplement landing page legally claim?
Structure/function claims such as "supports healthy sleep cycles" are permitted with the disclaimer required by 21 CFR 101.93, but disease claims such as "treats insomnia" are not. Every efficacy claim must be supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence, which the FTC's 2022 Health Products Compliance Guidance says generally means randomized, controlled human clinical testing. Implied claims made through imagery or testimonials count too. Have counsel review final copy.
How do I make subscribe-and-save compliant?
ROSCA requires clear and conspicuous disclosure of all material terms before you take billing information, express informed consent to the recurring charge, and a simple way to stop it. In practice: show price, cadence, first renewal date and the cancellation route in plain text next to the subscribe button, capture consent as a separate unchecked action, and let customers cancel through the channel they signed up in. The FTC's 2024 click-to-cancel amendments were set aside in court in 2025, but ROSCA and state auto-renewal laws still apply.
How much does it cost to get a supplement e-commerce funnel built?
Full builds that include offer engineering, long-form copy, video scripting, design, development and email sequences generally sit in the five figures. Atomic Funnels publishes a flat $10,000 Accelerator with a 3-4 week delivery window and optional split-test upgrades from $1,500 to $3,500. Cheaper template work exists, but it typically excludes the offer, the copy and the tracking, which is where the conversion actually comes from.
How much traffic do I need before a funnel rebuild is worth it?
Enough for the split test to resolve. As a rough planning rule, you want at least a few hundred conversions' worth of traffic per variant per month, or the test drags out and you make decisions on noise. If you're spending under a few thousand dollars a month on ads, improving AOV levers, bundle tiers, an order bump, a post-purchase upsell, usually returns faster than a full rebuild.
Why do my Meta-reported purchases not match my payment processor?
Since Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework restricted cross-app tracking, browser pixels miss and delay conversions. The fix is sending the same events server-side through a conversions API with a shared event ID for deduplication, capturing a first-party email early in the funnel, and reconciling daily against your processor. Treat the processor as the source of truth for spend decisions.
